JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri deer hunters got quite a haul. According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, hunters harvested 12,002 deer during the alternative-methods portion of the fall firearms deer season, Dec. 28 - Jan. 7.
12,109 deer were harvested during the previous alternative-methods portion of the fall firearms deer season. The top counties for harvesting were Callway with 315, Franklin with 297 and Pike with 261. Meanwhile, archery deer hunting continues statewide through Jan. 15.
